Achaval Ferrer Wines Coming!

I normally put up wines in a sequence according to their producers, so it should come as no surprise that I’ll be doing that with the next batch. I did want to mention, though, that the next batch is especially great, since it comes from perhaps the most renowned, artisanal, small-scale wine producer in all of Argentina, Achaval Ferrer.

Achaval Ferrer  specializes in the production of what are considered some of the best Malbecs in all of Argentina. He largely produces only fives wines, four of which are Malbec and three of which are ultra premium, icon-level wines. It should be noted though, that of those five, three are icon-level wines, with a very limited run and a very long articulation process. Moreover, these wines are, oddly enough, all Malbecs, yet each tastes almost completely different. The flavor differences are due almost completely to the different parcels of land and specifically the different altitudes in which the Malbec grapes are grown–a testament to just how much mastery Achaval Ferrer has of the winemaking craft. His wines are highly recommended for anyone who wants a true Argentine Malbec experience.
