Of all the wines in Argentina, it’s the best Malbec for the buck!
Incredible, jet black color. Purple reflections are very intense. It’s one of the best I’ve seen.
Soft, floral aroma—like a fresh rain, with the slight smell of plums and especially oak. Fresh wood and smoke in there too.
So many flavors just burst out. Coffee, coal, smoke, bitter plums, toast, spice, and roasted nuts are all apparent, in addition to an oaky bitterness. It has a nice counterbalancing acidity, with a smooth, long finish, making for a fantastic experience. Great body and structure, too.
Overall Score: 4.4/5.0. For the price, about a 4.6-4.8/5.0, depending on the price you find it at. This is, hands down, one of the best Malbecs I’ve tried in Argentina, handily besting wines that cost twice as much. It’s incredibly drinkable and flavorful, moderating the normally very overpowering flavors of the Malbec. Moreover, I paid $30 for it in Argentina, and even at that price I thought it was probably the best value of any wine I’ve ever tried. If you can get it for $20 in America, it’s a must try!
