La Iberica White Chocolate Bar

La Iberica White Chocolate Bar
Peru

La Iberica is a “premier,” common producer of higher-end Peruvian chocolates, but it’s quality really doesn’t stand up to its name.

The bar has an odd taste for a white chocolate bar. Not very sweet at all (which is good), but it’s very bland. It has very little taste at all—just tastes like milk with very little creaminess or richness. Simply avoid it.

  1. Hi!Nice blog.Interesting reviews,by the way…I really enjoyed them :)

I’m peruvian, and I don’t like La Iberica Chocolate either. To me,it’s not as tasty as I would expect for a good chocolate bar, however many people like it.The matter with that brand is that it’s traditional and pretty old,so it’s well known over here. However, there are nice bakeries and patisseries in Lima,Peru(specially),you’ll enjoy them :)

If you can go to Peru again, try Alfajores , Tres Leches,Lemon Pie,Suspiro de Limena…they’re really nice!

    Hey Gina,

Thanks for the input! Unfortunately, I won’t be going back to Peru anytime soon, but I did have a chance to try out some of those desserts you mentioned. I love alfajores, especially the Peruvian variety, which tends to use toffee instead of dulce de leche, as they do in Argentina. I’m also a huge fan of Tres Leches, which is a custard lover’s dream.

In fact, the only dessert I really couldn’t stand was Masamorra Morada. Purple corn gel–it’s just too much to wrap my head around.
