Nice color—orange with a slight purple shade. Some garnet in there.
Aroma—strong and fresh. Chocolate stands out, along with dried fruits, cherries, and coffee.
Taste—Very nice, distinct. It hits pretty hard. This wine is acidic and proud of it. It has a burnt, smoky taste to it. Coffee taste is strong on the first impression, but is followed by a refreshing smokiness and acidity. It causes a nice puckering in the mouth, and it is rather complex, elegant, and velvet. Great structure and complexity for a wine only aged for 12 month, like the Sottano Malbec before it. .
Overall Score: 4.1/5.0. For a mid-line, good value wine, this is a 4.2-4.3.
