Rutini Syrah 2004
100% Syrah
Not available on Wine-searcher
The color is an intense red, with dark purplish tints, but is somewhat muddy.
It has a big aroma, but it’s soft, in the sense of being rather pleasant and not overwhelming. It smells earthy, with notes of rain, dirt, raisins, and plums.
The wine is rather smooth, with a...

Rutini Vin Doux Naturel 2004
Verdiccio, Semillon (late harvest dessert white wine)
Not available on Wine-searcher
Golden, rich color, with nice greenish tints. Not much in terms of legs—must not have too much sugar (it’s probably not a fortified sweet wine, as in the case of most Argentine desert wines)
Very sweet, fruity aroma,...

Beautiful tints of ruby and violet. Intense, and purpling, but with a bit of lightness to the color.
Aroma is muddy, earthy, and woody. There is the smell of a forest, of rocks, and of fresh fruit.
Good body and structure to the wine....

30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 30% Malbec, 20% Syrah
Bodega La Rural
$47-$55 on Wine-searcher, although 1 vendor is selling it for $29 (a steal).
Keeper
This is the top wine of the line and one of the few blends that Bodega La Rural does. It is a Bordeaux-style wine.
The color is a gorgeous ruby....

Rutini Pinot Noir 2006
100% Pinot Noir
Not available on Wine-searcher.
Keeper
Argentina isn’t known for pinot noir, so this wine is quite the interesting find.
The color is a tad weak. It’s much lighter than the other Rutini wines (due to the grape varietal largely), but it does have some shades of lighter reds that come through...
