Terrazas Afincado Cabernet Sauvignon

This is the iconic wine of Terrazas de los Andes, and for good reason.

Gorgeous dark garnet color. Nice shades of purple. Looks very mature. Nice tints of red and orange. Great legs.

Soft aroma—pepper, spice, plums, cherries, and herbs. Quite interesting and complexity.

Very smooth. Acidic, but very controlled. Nice body—very developed, full, and round. It has a fantastic, spicy, long finish. It also has some nice smoky and toasty overtones, in addition to the spice. Roasted peppers and red fruits, such as plums and cherries, are prominent.

Overall Score: 4.2-4.3/5.0. Make it a 4.5 for value—I really can’t think of a better example of a Cabernet Sauvignon in Argentina, especially for $30.
