Valrhona’s Description of the Bar: Creamy and Chocolaty

The presentation of the bar is very simple, clean, and professional. Black wrapping, black box, chocolate in the shape of a large, thin square. It’s the same as the other Valrhona bars (refer to Tanariva bar).

Extremely smooth, creamy, milky, and velvety, even more so than the 33%, caramel-like Tanariva bar. Very little length, yet its taste more than compensates. It is so delicate it melts on touch. The melt in your mouth is near perfect, leaving a delightful residue all over that practically makes you pucker. Very round, in that the flavor seems to reach all parts of your mouth. The chocolate is rich, with tones of caramel, milk, vanilla, and light nuts (especially hazelnut). Not many overtones to it, but it’s perfectly sweet and never cloying (except if you eat it far too fast, instead of savoring it).

Presentation: 3.5/5.0
Taste: 4.8/5.0
Melt: 4.8/5.0
Length: 2.0/5.0
Value: 4.5/5.0. This is a very fair price to pay for a gourmet chocolate, especially one of this quality.
Overall Score: 4.6/5.0. My favorite milk chocolate, hands down. It may be a tad too sweet or caramel-like for some, and the length isn’t great, but for me, this is about as delightful as a milk chocolate can get.
